July 6th 2006 - Wienermobile Trivia
I know, I know. It's been a while since I've updated this blog, but I do have all the information, so I will begin to "fill in the blanks" over the next few weeks. But here's this week's info...
Trivia Question:
Karl Mayer, nephew of lunchmeat mogul Oscar Mayer, had the idea of creating an advertising gimmick - a big long hot dog on wheels - and the Wienermobile was born!
In what year was the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile introduced to the world?
Trivia Answer:
The first Wienermobile rolled out of the factory in Chicago, promoting Oscar Mayer "German Style Wieners" on July 18th, 1936. It cost $5000, was 13 feet long, and had open cockpits in the center and rear of the vehicle.
